Modern Steel Doors

Rarely, if ever, are the words modern steel door and Eco-friendly found in the same sentence, nonetheless, our friends at Sing Core are well acquainted with the idea of making the impossible possible. Not only are modern steel doors with Sing Core inside Eco friendly, they are also lighter in weight, stronger, fully insulated for sound deadening and climate control, and… wait for it… guaranteed for 50 years not to warp or fail structurally. No other method of manufacturing modern doors dare make such claims.

Leading edge architects and designers are constantly plugged in to the pulse of how to accomplish more with less and the cutting edge science behind Peter Sing’s patented invention is leading the pack in lightweight high strength building materials and one of the most predominant segments to benefit from his building material revolution is that of modern steel doors.

The high precision of Sing’s door core material is far beyond that of other organic or manmade materials at +/- .006 inch tolerances across long spans. Speaking of long spans, Sing’s core helps to create panels, posts and beams of incredibly high strength able to withstand long unsupported spans even under heavy loads. To see it in real life simply boggles the mind. For instance, here’s a one-inch-thick Sing panel 20 feet long supporting two men. There are no wood edges or support. No tricks or gimmicks, only Sing’s patented secret ingredient which bears his name, “Sing Core.”

Modern Steel Door Secret Ingredient

Don’t get me wrong, modern steel doors of any kind are great, no matter how you cut them, but Peter Sing’s Eco-friendly approach to building a modern steel door is counter-intuitive to the traditional methods of building any other type of modern steel door.

Plus, it’s the only Eco-friendly lightweight modern steel door that’s stronger than steel pound-for-pound and comes backed with a 50-year guarantee; all because this modern steel door has, “Sing Core inside.”

What exactly is inside a modern steel door that has Sing’s patented core inside?

Inventor, Peter Sing, starts with a torsion box grid. Not just any torsion box grid, but one with boxes of small size (2×2 inch) made of natural wood grain fiber with a twist. The twist is that Sing flips the grain on end strengthening the torsion box by many times (that had me thinking, “Why didn’t I think of that”). Then there’s more; he fills the open grid’s vacancies with rigid recycled foam to create a hybrid composite base that is sandwiched between two stress skins and cold pressed using formaldehyde-free adhesive. This is the basis of Sing’s patented core material as used inside this new generation of sustainable lightweight high strength modern steel doors with the most incredible nearly indestructible shear strength of his composite core material.

So, that’s what’s going inside a Sing door… Oh, by the way, Sing’s company does not make doors. Nope. Never has, never will. According to inventor and President Peter Sing, “We do not build doors. We only supply the best millworks and door companies with the best door core to make the best doors. That’s all.” Then, it is the artisans at the individual millworks and door manufacturers who make the modern steel doors with Sing Core inside look so and perform so well.

Each Modern Steel Door a Piece of Art

There is no such thing as a standard modern steel door, not when it comes from Sing Core. Every door they build (or more accurately, “help build”) is a one-off piece of art (unless you order multiple matching doors at the same time). That is to say, the door base or door blank is handmade at Peter Sing’s factory then handed off to the craftsmen who put on the finishing details. Then it gets scheduled for install. It really does take a village to build a modern steel door with Sing Core inside.

While some door companies who do create standard modern steel doors that you can order from a catalog, when it comes to making the jump from a standard 4×8 door to an 8×16 door, now, you’re looking to spec Sing Core inside. That’s what the best contemporary architects do when specifying a large modern steel door. While each door with Sing Core is completely individual, it can also take on the look and feel of any other modern steel door no matter what the size.
